Q: What is a Segway?

Q: How safe is the Segway i2?

The utmost care and research has gone into ensuring that the Segway i2 is safe. The Segway i2's balancing technology is truly revolutionary and provides an exceptional riding experience. The Segway i2 has redundant systems and sophisticated alerts built into its design, and many thousands of hours of use have demonstrated that the Segway i2 is safe when used appropriately. It is important that Segway i2 riders understand their responsibility to ride safely. Proper skill level and understanding of the Segway i2 prevents injuries caused by loss of control or misuse.

Q: Is it hard to ride a Segway?

The Segway requires no special skills (it takes care of the balancing-on-two-wheels part) and virtually anyone can use one, as long as you can stand on two feet for an extended period of time. In addition to the ingenious technology, all of our tours include a thorough safety and gliding training course given by one of our certified Segway instructors prior to departure.

Q: What are the weight constraints to ride a Segway?

All gliders must be above 70 lbs and below 250 lbs in order to ride a Segway with us.

Q: How fast do the Segways go?

The Segways have different levels of operation. The beginner level will limit the Segway to a maximum of 6 miles per hour. The intermediate level will limit the Segway to a maximum of 12.5 miles per hour. During the training session, new Segway riders will start on the beginner level. Once everyone is comfortable, we will move up to the intermediate level for the duration of the tour.

Q: What is your cancellation and reservation rescheduling policy?

All changes to your reservation require 7 days advance notice. All changes to your reservation require 7 days advance notice. If you cancel within 7 days or do not show up for the tour we charge 50% of the total price quoted.

Q: How much time of the tour is actually spent on a Segway?

We provide a 30-minute video and training session at the start of every tour. This is not included in the tour time. Simply put, the tour time you purchase is the time on the Segway that you will get.

Q: What happens if it rains?

The tours are held rain or shine. We ask that you dress appropriately for the day's weather conditions. We do have rain ponchos available for free at the meeting location in the case of rain.

Q: Are cameras allowed on the tour?

Yes, cameras are allowed on the tour. We ask that you do not take photos while on the Segway; your guide will gladly take pictures of you and your group with your camera in front of the spectacular landmarks and highlight of your tour.

Q: Do I have to sign a waiver?

All Segway riders must sign a liability waiver before participating. Riders ages 7 to 17 must have a parent or guardian sign for them.

Q: Do I recieve a discount if I live in Los Angeles?

Definitely! More than 50% of our guests live right here in Los Angeles and come to learn more about the neighborhoods and the city in which they live. It's a new and unique way to see the sites with which they may already be familiar and it is an awesome experience for locals to bring their out-of-town guests to enjoy.

Q: Are the tours conducted in English only?

No, our tours can be conducted in English and Spanish. However, if we cannot find a translator for the speaking portion of the tour, our guests will still enjoy the experience of riding a Segway and seeing all of the amazing landmarks along the route.

Q: Is there parking nearby the tour meeting point?

Yes, there is parking located near the meeting point. Specific parking details are available over the phone or by inputting our address into any GPS. Mapping program such as Yahoo Maps, Google Maps, or MapQuest are also a great resource for directions and parking.

Q: Can I rent a Segway through Another Side of Los Angeles Tours?
